When clients work with us and mention they want to increase their social media following, we often ask them point-blank—are you willing to put in the work to be a content creator?
While we have a proven methodology and take a scientific approach toward content creation, it’s not something you can just sleepwalk your way through. A lot of hours can go into creating a thirty-second video. When looking at content at a high level, the viral content engineering process may be simple, but it’s definitely not easy. If you’re not willing to put in the time and effort, you’re not going to see the results you’re looking for.
While we can give you the process, we can’t do the work for you. LeBron James didn’t get to be LeBron James by just throwing a basketball into a hoop once in a while when he had some spare time. He practiced religiously, working tirelessly on all aspects of the game, analyzing and learning from his mistakes and failures and adjusting his process when necessary.
You need that exact same mindset if you want to succeed at content. You can’t just slap together a video and post it, hoping for the best. To really get the engagement and reach you’re after, you have to spend time learning the language of social media and becoming an expert on content. Like I said, it’s simple, but it’s not easy.
At its core, a car is just a metal box with wheels. But anyone who’s ever worked on a car (even anyone who’s ever driven one) can tell you that so much more goes into making a car. Nobody in their right mind would stick some wheels on a hunk of metal and expect to drive that out of the factory. Don’t make that mistake when it comes to content.
