Almost everyone that I’ve worked with is experiencing this, or has experienced it at some point.
Putting more money behind your business doesn’t mean you’re going to grow the business.
This is especially true when it comes to scaling up to hit the masses with the value that you’ve got to offer.
Instead of throwing more money into the business, why not start with something a bit different? Something that’s definitely more challenging, but will last you for your entire lifetime…
Start by rethinking how you make your creative and marketing decisions.
Let’s use social media as an example, since it’s something almost every brand struggles with. It’s not that brands don’t have some of the brightest and most talented people on the planet working for them, because they do…
The problem is quite simple, in reality. Users don’t go on social media to browse your products.
The solution? Equally simple. Start by connecting with your audience holistically, then bring them into a purchase mindset. Earn their trust, so they’ll listen to what you have to say. There’s nothing less trust-building than leading with marketing copy on an Instagram post.
Post content that aligns with your brand and values, but doesn’t necessarily force a product in every post. If your content is good enough, people will start to associate you with an enjoyable experience, and they’ll see you as a thought leader in your space.
In essence, why spend 6 months creating 100 Instagram posts that will net you 100,000 meaningless impressions when you can spend 1 month creating top-notch holistic content that gets you 1,000,000 impressions and builds trust in a new audience?
And guess what? It’ll probably cost you half the budget or less.
So no. Don’t pump more money into marketing, not just yet. Craft a strategy that isn’t exactly the same as every other brand out there…and once it’s working? The sky’s the limit.
