There’s something you’ll quickly realize when you start working to build your audience: It takes work.
Even the biggest celebrities, brands, and influencers in the world have to constantly work at building, engaging and maintaining their audience.
It might not seem like it, but it’s true more often than not.
I’ve seen it with many of the celebrity and high profile clients I’ve worked with, and with my own following.
Even with a large audience of millions of followers, it still takes effort to create content, bring your message to the world, and drive engagement. It rarely happens on its own.
You may already realize it with your own brand or business. If you’re just starting out, it’s one of the most important pieces of advice I can provide.
The more you understand this, the more you’ll increase your chances for success.
That’s where your mindset plays a critical part. And, the reason it does is because success on digital platforms is hard work.
When things get tough, or get hard to do, there are going to be times when you’ll want to quit.
The right mindset will help.
Knowing that you’re going to face challenges, that you might struggle, or even fail, will help you keep going. Having a clear idea of why you want to build an audience and your goals, will get you through any obstacles you’ll face more than anything else.
How I advise others to develop their mindset is the same approach I took myself. Ask yourself why you want to build an audience. Determine what will happen when you achieve that goal. What does it look like? What will you gain? How will it feel? Know your goal might take time to achieve, and be hard work.
A friend of mine recently said, “your mind will make you more money than your time ever will.”
It’s 100% true. Your mindset counts. Make it a key part of your focus.
