Quality over quantity

You’re posting 4 times a week, just like the “experts” told you that you should. But your posts aren’t getting any traction. What gives?

I’m sure you’ve heard the old adage of quality over quantity. It’s true for most things in life, but it’s especially true for social media. So instead of working on 4 posts per week that do mediocre numbers and don’t break through, focus that same energy on doing 1 great post, instead.

If you really want to grow, you need posts that do big numbers. Even just one piece of content that sees hundreds of thousands (or even millions) of views will impact your brand’s bottom line. But all those posts that you’re rushing through just to say you posted your 4 pieces of content for that week that only get 150 likes? They’re not helping. In fact, they’re actually hurting your brand.

The truth is, the algorithm actually punishes you for posts that don’t have significant engagement by holding back your future posts on people’s feeds. Just as viral content tells the algorithm that your posts are resonating with the masses, so they’ll learn to push your content out to more and more people, content that isn’t viral tells the algorithm that your posts probably don’t have viral potential.

That’s why it’s so important to only post when you believe you have a post that can do big numbers. And the only way to do that is to research what’s working and not working for other creators in your space and produce only the best ideas that you really believe in. So quit checking boxes and remember — it’s the quality of the posts that counts, not quantity.
